Between the Lines Kim Today

Between the Lines

I am stoked to be part of the Between the Lines Blog Series.  This is about women bloggers in the second half of their life.

I am a  believer in the “you can do more than you think you can.“ Growing “older” does not change this at all.

Running Collage

I  celebrated my fiftieth birthday in January. In honor of this,  I created Project 50:  fifty goals/activities/events to celebrate turning fifty.

I’ve been an avid trail runner for the last twelve years. I  had knee surgery-meniscectomy  in April  and was told I had a good case of arthritis in my knee.  I was also told that continuing to run will progress the arthritis faster.

Just because I have arthritis does not mean I am going to give up my active lifestyle.  In my Kimba 2.0 post last week, I talked about training smarter and adding alternate activities to my exercise routine, such as bike riding.

I celebrated ten years of blogging in April. Many things have changed and many have stayed the same. “Blogging is dead” has been around for many years-and yet we keep on blogging!

Please visit my tabs at the top, my Project 50 goals are there with a few of my race reports over the years, along with my manifesto.

Please visit the lovely ladies featured this Tuesday on the Between the Lines Series.

Thank you to Katie at Katherine’s Corner for sponsoring the series!

Kim, I am amazed at your energy! I’ve never ever been a runner but I do love hiking in awesome places and long walks in the woods or on the beach. My motto has always been “If you see these legs running you better run too!” lol I’m 54 and find it so important for women of a certain age to stay active.

It is important to stay active! We start losing bone density after age 30 I think! Our best years are still to come!

I think I had some project 50 goals once. And I can’t remember how long ago I started blogging. Perhaps I should figure it all out before I post between the lines. Lovely to meet you!

Hello Kim, nice to see you here at the Between The Lines series! You are very inspiring, I must say. I had a double meniscectomy in October and told the same thing about arthritis in both knees. There is no way in heck I could run, especially on my left knee (which never bounced back). I was told that riding a bike is the best exercise and I keep telling myself to get both a stationary bike for winter and cruising bike for summer. I need to be following you to get that inspiration. Keep on keep’n on!

Hi Kim, it is very nice to meet you. I admire anyone who can go out there and train and use their bodies. I seemed to have turned into a blog since I started blogging. Good luck to you on your journey!

Ten years of blogging! Fifty mile race?! Wow Wow Wow!!! I am so proud to make your acquaintance! Hello from week 5 of Between the Lines. I hope one day to be able to say I’ve been blogging for 10 years, but I am a newbie. I look forward to getting to know you.

WOW. I love your attitude towards life and its challenges. I also love the Project 50 idea … it’s kind of like my 16 Goals for ’16. So glad for the introduction to your blog and to share in the Between The Lines week 6 spotlight with you.

Kim -love your motto – you can do more than you think you can. I have certainly learned that through 5 years of Crossfit! Greetings from Between the Lines Week 6

I wish I could do half of what you’re doing, Kim; but I’m at the older end of this series and I’ve had a knee replacement and was told to give up my tennis and pickleball that I played. No more running and jumping for me, so now I walk, ride my bike, do yoga, kayaking and more subtle forms of exercising. I’ll be featured in week 10 of this series.

But you are still active and doing things! I’m considering buying an inflatable kayak so I can get out on the water this summer! Thanks for visiting!

Ten years of blogging! That is awesome! I’m trying to decide what impresses me more – the time you have been blogging or the time you have been running! I am not a runner, though I have tried it several times. Unlike you, I tend to give up when the injuries set in. 😉 However, like you, I am a fellow Between the Lines blogger and will be turning 50 this summer, so I can’t wait to check out your Project 50! It’s nice to “meet” you, Kim!
